Head-to-head

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus vs DELTA 3 Classic: Plus keeps a direct 12V fridge connection that Classic omits

The short answer

Choose the DELTA 3 Plus for a 12V camping fridge, battery expansion or a larger solar setup. Choose the DELTA 3 Classic if your equipment uses AC or USB and its fixed 1024Wh capacity is enough. Their 1800W AC output and base battery capacity are equal, but Classic removes several connections that off-grid buyers may need.

Before you choose

The reasoning and the trade-offs

The 1800W headline does not tell you whether a 12V device fits

A 60W, 12V-only fridge can connect directly to Plus but has no matching output on Classic.

What this is based on

The official comparison table lists car and DC5521 outputs for Plus and no 12V DC output for Classic. The 60W load is an illustrative requirement, not a measured fridge.

Main trade-off

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus

The 1,800W continuous inverter is lower than C1000 Gen 2 despite a similar 1kWh battery. X-Boost does not change that normal output limit.

Main trade-off

EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic

The Classic has no 12V DC output or dedicated extra-battery port. Its solar input is lower than DELTA 3 Plus.

About this comparison

Compare EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus and Classic by 12V fridge connections, expansion, solar input and USB-C power without confusing their equal battery size.

Classic keeps the basic AC battery job, but its missing DC and expansion connections can be deal-breakers.

Winner by situation

Start with what you need it to do

  • My camping fridge only has a 12V car plug

Classic lacks the direct 12V output required by this setup.

What matters in practice

The differences that matter

The 1800W headline does not tell you whether a 12V device fits

A 60W, 12V-only fridge can connect directly to Plus but has no matching output on Classic.

How we reached this conclusion

The official comparison table lists car and DC5521 outputs for Plus and no 12V DC output for Classic. The 60W load is an illustrative requirement, not a measured fridge.

Both start with the same 819Wh planning allowance

Applying an 80% usable-energy assumption gives 819.2Wh from either 1024Wh base battery.

How we reached this conclusion

1024 × 0.8 = 819.2Wh. At a steady 200W this estimates about 4.10 hours, with actual efficiency and temperature changing the result.

Classic has a clear second-laptop bottleneck

Its second USB-C port is capped at 30W, while Plus provides up to 140W on each of its two ports.

How we reached this conclusion

140 − 30 = 110W of additional second-port headroom. A device benefits only if it can negotiate that power with a suitable cable.

What you give up

Every choice has a cost

If you choose EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus

  • The IP65 rating covers the battery pack, not permission to operate the entire station in rain. Expansion batteries and alternator hardware are separate.

If you choose EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic

  • Check the current Amazon seller, delivery estimate and warranty channel before ordering.

What matters in practice

How to make the call

Check the plug on the equipment you want to power before comparing the identical battery and AC numbers.

01

A camping fridge makes this a connector decision

If your portable fridge uses a 12V car plug, DELTA 3 Plus provides the direct connection. Classic has no 12V output. A fridge with its own compatible AC adapter can still run from Classic, but that is a different wiring arrangement and adds conversion through the inverter. Check the exact fridge power supply before buying.

02

The same first-night reserve can hide a different long-term plan

Both base batteries hold 1024Wh. Plus supports compatible extra batteries, while Classic stays at its built-in capacity. That distinction matters when the present job is a short outage but the likely future job is a longer trip. Expansion increases stored energy while the main unit’s 1800W AC limit remains the same.

03

Classic suits a simpler set of loads

A setup built around AC chargers, a television and modest USB devices may not use the Plus connections. In that case, the Classic model still performs the same basic 1800W AC role. Compare the final Amazon offers for the exact standalone models, then pay for Plus only if its DC, solar or expansion features earn their place.

Check these before buying

  • Read the exact model name. DELTA 3, DELTA 3 Plus and DELTA 3 Classic do not share all connectors.
  • Check whether a 12V appliance includes a manufacturer-approved AC adapter before choosing Classic.
  • Check the exact expansion battery and cable compatibility before planning a larger Plus system.

What this comparison cannot tell you

  • The fridge example is an electrical connection check, not a runtime or cold-storage safety claim.
  • Battery runtime and solar calculations do not establish laboratory efficiency.
