Our pick

Start with Luna Pro if your phone is busy with notes or you need tracking in a dedicated low-light mode. Its separate preview screen and supported mode combinations address those jobs directly. Pocket 3 suits ordinary tracked video with a lighter body and compatible DJI microphones. Ultra is worth considering when a fixed position makes its separate tighter lens useful.
The removable screen leaves the phone free, and tracking stays available in PureVideo and Slow-Mo. Its remote microphone cannot independently record alongside an external mic. Check the actual scene and audio setup before filming something unrepeatable.
Choose a pocket gimbal camera for filming yourself at home or away. Compare occupied phones, evening tracking, close demonstrations and two-person audio.
What the facts say
Useful conclusions from the current pocket gimbal cameras comparison, followed by the checked facts used to reach them.
Luna’s main lens permits an object 11 cm closer than Pocket 3’s documented focus limit.
Calculation noteThe stated main-lens limits are 9 cm and 20 cm. 20 minus 9 equals 11 cm. This is distance headroom for a demonstration, not a measured sharpness, autofocus-speed or magnification benefit.

What matters in practice
Start with what the person filming also needs to do, then check the camera’s supported combinations.
Your phone may hold a recipe, speaking notes, a music cue or the other person on a call. Using it as the camera monitor adds another job. Luna Pro and Ultra have a removable preview screen, so the phone can stay where it is needed. Pocket 3 also offers remote framing through Mimo. That route works when the phone is free. The useful distinction is the conflict in your setup, not whether one camera has a remote-control feature. Check where the preview will sit and whether you can reach it without stepping out of the scene.
Putting a camera on a tripod does not mean every recording mode will keep following you. Pocket 3 disables ActiveTrack in its Low-Light and Slow Motion modes. Luna supports tracking in PureVideo and Slow-Mo. If a single parent wants to join an evening game, that difference can decide whether a moving shot is practical without another operator. Pocket can still use tracking in ordinary Video, or film a fixed wider view. Choose the mode before the event, and test the same movement and lighting. Supported tracking can still fail through obstruction or weak light.
Both Luna models let the remote provide audio when selected. Once an external microphone is connected, the remote cannot independently capture the second speaker. A couple explaining a recipe needs another plan, such as a supported matching transmitter pair or a tested receiver. Pocket 3 can connect compatible DJI microphones directly, which may make an existing kit worth keeping. Check the exact generation. A seller’s generic lavalier is not automatically a DJI Mic 2. Listen to a sample with both people speaking from the positions they will actually use.
A presenter can stay in focus while moving a craft item too close to the lens. Luna’s main lens has a documented 9 cm minimum focus distance, compared with Pocket 3’s 20 cm. That leaves more close-positioning room for a spontaneous demonstration. It does not prove sharper lettering, faster autofocus or useful macro magnification. Test the actual object and light. Ultra’s second lens is not required for the same main-lens close-focus limit. If the item can stay farther away or be filmed in a separate shot, Pocket’s distance may not create a problem.
Luna’s documentation gives pets a different reacquisition rule from people. If an obscured pet is not found again within 10 seconds, tracking cancels. A person’s loss keeps the search active. That matters when you film yourself playing with a dog in a furnished room and expect the camera to wait for it to return. Plan a clear area, watch the preview and restart tracking when needed. This rule does not establish how Pocket 3 performs in the same scene. It establishes a specific limit to check before treating Luna’s pet tracking as unattended coverage.
Luna’s 47 GB usable internal space can save a shoot when the memory card is elsewhere. It is only useful if yesterday’s files have been copied and enough space remains. Charge the detachable screen as well as the camera if the next shoot depends on remote preview. Pocket requires a card, so put it back after copying. Protect every gimbal from pressure in the bag and keep these cameras away from unprotected wet use. A lighter body or a bigger storage figure does not remove those next-day tasks.
3 options

Insta360, CINSACHA, Cosmic Black Standard Bundle
A useful choice for filming yourself while the phone holds a script, recipe or call. The removable screen shows the framing, and tracking remains available in PureVideo and Slow-Mo. It shares most of Ultra’s everyday conveniences. The single lens is the main limit when you cannot move nearer to a stage.
Winner whenThe removable screen leaves the phone free, and tracking stays available in PureVideo and Slow-Mo. Its remote microphone cannot independently record alongside an external mic. Check the actual scene and audio setup before filming something unrepeatable.
The remote microphone cannot independently record alongside an external mic. Budget and test the right audio setup for two people.

DJI, CP.OS.00000376.01, Capture More Combo
A lighter camera body for ordinary tracked video and a practical way to keep using compatible DJI microphones. A phone running Mimo can control framing remotely. Its dedicated Low-Light and Slow Motion modes disable ActiveTrack. The selected Capture More Combo is a third-party Amazon offer, so confirm the exact package and US warranty.
Choose instead whenOrdinary Video mode covers the job and you value the 179 g body or compatible DJI microphones. Low-Light and Slow Motion disable ActiveTrack. The selected Capture More Combo has a third-party seller, so confirm the exact package and US warranty.
ActiveTrack is unavailable in Low-Light and Slow Motion modes. Mimo remote preview occupies the phone, and the camera needs a memory card.

Insta360, CINSABTA-S, Cosmic Black Standard Bundle
The second lens is useful when a seat, barrier or audience stops you moving closer. It keeps the detachable preview, internal storage and tracking conveniences found on Pro. Before a performance, choose the recording mode carefully. The highest-resolution modes restrict continuous lens switching, and Stage audio deliberately reduces the filmer’s voice.
Choose instead whenYou need the separate 60 mm-equivalent lens from a fixed position. For continuous lens switching, choose an eligible mode rather than 8K or 4K portrait. Stage mode reduces the filmer’s voice.
Continuous wide-to-tele lens switching is unavailable in 8K and 4K portrait recording. Use an eligible lower-resolution mode if the take cannot stop.
