Main trade-off
UGREEN NASync DXP8800 Plus
On-die ECC is not a system-level ECC specification.
Head-to-head
Choose DXP8800 Plus when eight internal SATA drives must be paired with native dual 10GbE or more than 32 GB of supported RAM. Choose DS1825+ when DSM and its documented ECC memory and expansion-unit path are the requirements. DS1825+ starts with dual 2.5GbE and needs a supported card for faster networking.
Before you choose
DXP8800 Plus includes 10GbE. DS1825+ needs a compatible add-in card to connect at that rate.
What this is based on
10 divided by 2.5 equals four in physical link rate. It is not a fourfold transfer-speed prediction.
Main trade-off
On-die ECC is not a system-level ECC specification.
Main trade-off
10GbE or 25GbE adds a compatible network-card purchase.

Compare DXP8800 Plus and DS1825+ for an eight-drive archive, native 10GbE, ECC memory and the supported RAM ceiling.

Winner by situation
Synology needs a compatible network upgrade.
DS1825+ publishes 32 GB maximum.
DS1825+ specifies ECC SODIMM memory.
Both have those physical positions, subject to drive and pool compatibility.
What matters in practice
DXP8800 Plus includes 10GbE. DS1825+ needs a compatible add-in card to connect at that rate.
10 divided by 2.5 equals four in physical link rate. It is not a fourfold transfer-speed prediction.
UGREEN publishes a 64 GB memory ceiling. Synology publishes 32 GB for DS1825+.
48 GB is below 64 GB and above 32 GB. Both selected packages start with 8 GB.
DS1825+ explicitly specifies ECC SODIMM memory. UGREEN lists DDR5 on-die ECC, which is a different protection boundary.
Both have the same SATA and NVMe counts, so drive capacity alone does not settle an ECC requirement.

UGREEN, DXP8800 Plus
Eight SATA bays, two NVMe sockets and dual native 10GbE for a larger drive plan in one chassis.

Synology, DS1825+
Eight SATA bays with ECC memory and a supported PCIe route to 10GbE or 25GbE networking.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | UGREEN NASync DXP8800 Plus | Synology DiskStation DS1825+ | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Internal drive positions | Eight SATA and two NVMe | Eight SATA and two NVMe | The chassis connector counts match. |
| Built-in Ethernet | Two 10GbE ports | Two 2.5GbE ports | The selected diskless packages start at different link rates. |
| Memory supplied | 8 GB DDR5 with on-die ECC listed | 8 GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM | DDR5 on-die error correction is not the same claim as system-level ECC memory. |
| Supported memory ceiling | 64 GB | 32 GB | A 48 GB requirement fits one published ceiling. |
| Documented expansion path | PCIe x4 slot | PCIe x8 slot with x4 link, plus two DX525 ports | The specific adapters and expansion devices differ. |
| Stock software | UGOS Pro | DSM | Required applications and drive-pool conditions must be checked on the chosen platform. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose UGREEN NASync DXP8800 Plus. UGREEN has those published capacities.
Choose Synology DiskStation DS1825+. DS1825+ supplies that documented combination.
Choose neither. Both compared chassis supply two.
What matters in practice
Compare the UGREEN enclosure with the Synology enclosure plus the exact network card your plan needs. The client, cable, switch and storage must also sustain the link. DS1825+ has a documented path to 25GbE for a different network design. That option is additional hardware rather than a feature of the supplied Ethernet sockets.
If a supported workload actually requires 48 GB, DXP8800 Plus is the documented capacity fit after a compatible upgrade. DS1825+ falls below the requirement regardless of its eight drive bays. Confirm the application or guest system is supported on UGOS before switching platforms. A higher memory capacity does not establish faster software.
If system-level ECC is part of the deployment specification, DS1825+ has the relevant published memory architecture. The UGREEN on-die ECC label should not be used as an equivalent claim. If that requirement is absent, choose through the actual network, memory and application plan. There is no controlled reliability test here.
