Main trade-off
ASUS ProArt Display 27-inch 4K
Its 60Hz panel is tuned for creation rather than high-frame-rate play.
Head-to-head
PA279CRV suits Adobe RGB and P3 work with 96-watt charging and daisy chaining. PD2706U is easier for two computers because it includes a KVM and Hotkey Puck.

Main trade-off
The 60Hz refresh rate keeps the focus on design work rather than motion.

Two 27-inch 4K creator monitors combine wide color and strong USB-C charging.
The practical choice turns on documented gamut and kvm, then on the constraints in your own setup.
Before you choose
A work laptop and personal desktop can share PD2706U’s keyboard and mouse, but the desktop needs video plus USB upstream. Connecting HDMI alone leaves the peripheral path incomplete. Choose BenQ when that switching routine is the job. If one computer remains attached all day, the KVM is less valuable and ASUS’s other connection features can matter more. Account for these cables before putting the desk against a wall.
BenQ’s manual shows USB-C to one computer and DisplayPort plus USB upstream to the other. Using HDMI requires selecting the matching KVM source.
PA279CRV's DisplayPort MST output addresses a two-display chain from a compatible Windows or other MST-capable source. It does not provide two extended desktops on a Mac. PD2706U's KVM instead shares peripherals between two computers. Choose ASUS for a confirmed supported display chain, or BenQ when keyboard switching matters more. BenQ's downstream USB ports are peripheral connections rather than second video outputs.
DisplayPort MST needs support from the source operating system and hardware. macOS does not support two extended desktops over this MST route. KVM switching is a separate function and cannot create a second display output.
Winner by situation
For display output, ASUS ProArt Display 27-inch 4K records “DisplayPort daisy chain” and BenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor records “No equivalent chain focus”. This changes how easily a second display can be connected in a daisy chain.
For kvm, ASUS ProArt Display 27-inch 4K records “No” and BenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor records “Integrated”. This affects connection compatibility and available data paths. A higher label does not guarantee the same real-world result in every setup.
BenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor combines panel contrast, brightness control and an HDR format suited to the content.
For documented gamut, ASUS ProArt Display 27-inch 4K records “99 percent P3 and Adobe RGB” and BenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor records “95 percent P3”. This affects image compatibility, placement or viewing quality. Compare like-for-like standards before treating the label as a winner.

ASUS, PA279CRV

BenQ, PD2706U
BenQ packages 4K creator modes, 90-watt USB-C, a KVM and its Hotkey Puck into a compact design monitor.
