Main trade-off
BenQ DesignVue 32-inch 4K USB-C
The panel runs at 60Hz, so it is not the choice for high-refresh gaming.
Head-to-head
Choose the PD3205U for a larger 4K picture and comfortable text at the same scaling. Choose the PD2706U for a narrower desk or work that specifically needs its stated P3 coverage. Both provide 60Hz, 90-watt USB-C and a KVM.
Before you choose
The PD3205U makes the same 4K content 16.7% larger in each direction at identical scaling.
What this is based on
31.5 ÷ 27 = 1.1667. Squared area ratio is 1.3611 for the shared 16:9 shape.
Main trade-off
The panel runs at 60Hz, so it is not the choice for high-refresh gaming.
Main trade-off
The 60Hz refresh rate keeps the focus on design work rather than motion.

Compare BenQ PD3205U and PD2706U for design work, text size and desk fit. Both offer 4K, 90W USB-C and KVM, with different size and gamut needs.
Larger design work or a compact wide-gamut screen
Winner by situation
The larger panel makes the same content physically bigger.
The PD2706U saves about four inches of width.
The PD2706U explicitly specifies 95% P3.
Both provide a KVM and the same charging ceiling.
What matters in practice
The PD3205U makes the same 4K content 16.7% larger in each direction at identical scaling.
31.5 ÷ 27 = 1.1667. Squared area ratio is 1.3611 for the shared 16:9 shape.
The PD2706U is 100.9 mm narrower and 18.5 mm shallower with its stand.
714.7 − 613.8 = 100.9 mm. 256.8 − 238.3 = 18.5 mm. These are chassis and stand dimensions.
A 90W-compatible laptop does not gain a higher advertised charging ceiling by choosing the larger screen.
Both monitors specify 90W upstream USB-C power. The laptop must support the negotiated mode.

BenQ, PD3205U
A larger 4K design screen makes text and drawings physically bigger without changing the pixel count. A KVM and 90-watt USB-C connection help a desktop and laptop share one keyboard and screen.

BenQ, PD2706U
BenQ packages 4K creator modes, 90-watt USB-C, a KVM and its Hotkey Puck into a compact design monitor.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | BenQ DesignVue 32-inch 4K USB-C | BenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viewable size | 31.5 inches | 27 inches | The larger model spreads the same pixels across more area. |
| Resolution and refresh | 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz | 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz | Neither gives more native desktop pixels or a higher refresh tier. |
| USB-C charging | Up to 90W | Up to 90W | The laptop-power ceiling is shared. |
| KVM | Yes | Yes | Both can share peripherals between compatible computers. |
| Published gamut emphasis | 99% sRGB and Rec.709 | 100% sRGB, 100% Rec.709 and 95% P3 | These figures refer to different color spaces and should not be ranked by the largest number. |
| Chassis width | 714.7 mm | 613.8 mm | The larger model needs 100.9 mm more desk width. |
| Stand depth | 256.8 mm | 238.3 mm | The larger model also uses 18.5 mm more depth. |
What you give up
What matters in practice
If your work is delivered in sRGB or Rec.709, the PD3205U's stated coverage addresses that use. If P3 is part of the requirement, the PD2706U makes the clearer documented case. Comparing 99% sRGB with 95% P3 as if one percentage were simply higher is misleading because the reference spaces differ.
Both panels contain the same 4K image. On the PD3205U that image is physically larger, which can make text and controls easier to read from farther back. At the same scaling it does not create extra workspace. The gain depends on viewing distance and your comfortable text size.
Both offer a KVM and 90-watt USB-C charging. That means the larger model is not necessary simply to share a keyboard or power the laptop. Choose between physical size and the relevant color-space specification, then compare the current Amazon offers for those exact models.
What the facts say
Useful conclusions from the current computer monitors comparison, followed by the checked facts used to reach them.
Only 11 of 50 models checked match every need here: “Factory-tuned color for creative work”, “Sharp 4K detail for work and entertainment”, and “One USB-C cable for video and peripherals”.
11 matching models from 50 checkedBenQ DesignVue 27-inch 4K Designer Monitor lists 163 ppi for calculated pixel density, 17% above BenQ DesignVue 32-inch 4K USB-C at 140 ppi.
Match countThe count uses the current product-to-need assignments for “Factory-tuned color for creative work”, “Sharp 4K detail for work and entertainment”, and “One USB-C cable for video and peripherals”. A need with no documented match does not count.
Calculation notePixel density is calculated from the published diagonal and native pixel dimensions, then rounded to the nearest whole pixel per inch. Operating-system scaling still determines effective text size. 44 of 50 models have comparable published figures for context.
