Main trade-off
Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra
Its fixed navigation tower needs more headroom than Saros 10. Measure the lowest furniture rail before choosing.
Head-to-head
Choose the Saros 10 when low furniture or leaving the main wet mop at the station is a hard requirement. Choose the S8 MaxV Ultra if you prefer its dual-roller vacuum head and the current offer is attractive. Both use vibrating mops, but the S8's 20 mm mop lift is not the same as the Saros leaving its mop behind.
Before you choose
The Saros can vacuum with its main mop absent. The S8 keeps its lifted pad attached, so pad clearance remains relevant.
What this is based on
S8 MaxV Ultra specifies up to 20 mm mop lifting. Saros 10 supports automatic main-mop detachment at its station.
Main trade-off
Its fixed navigation tower needs more headroom than Saros 10. Measure the lowest furniture rail before choosing.
Main trade-off
The 1.57-inch climbing claim describes two-level thresholds. A single vertical step is limited to 1.18 inches in the manufacturer's tests.

Compare S8 MaxV Ultra and Saros 10 for dual rollers, low furniture and wet-mop separation. Mop removal is different from a 20 mm lift.
Winner by situation
Saros can leave its main mop at the station.
S8 retains the dual-roller arrangement.
Saros has a documented 79.8 mm lowered body.
Both use vibrating pads.
What matters in practice
The Saros can vacuum with its main mop absent. The S8 keeps its lifted pad attached, so pad clearance remains relevant.
S8 MaxV Ultra specifies up to 20 mm mop lifting. Saros 10 supports automatic main-mop detachment at its station.
The Saros rating is 2.2 times the S8 rating, but that ratio does not measure debris removal from a rug.
22,000 / 10,000 = 2.2 for manufacturer-rated pressure. Brush design, airflow and test conditions prevent interpreting it as a pickup ratio.
A 90 mm furniture opening leaves 10.2 mm above the Saros's lowered body. Confirm the whole entry route before buying for that access.
90 - 79.8 = 10.2 mm using Saros 10's published lowered height. The margin excludes uneven floors, fabric and navigation behavior.

Roborock, S8 MaxV Ultra
A dual-roller vacuum with a sonic mop and camera-assisted obstacle recognition. The tank dock automates emptying, washing and detergent dosing.

Roborock, Saros 10
A retractable navigation tower gets the vibrating mop under low furniture. It can leave its main mop at the dock before vacuuming carpet.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra | Roborock Saros 10 | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main brush arrangement | Dual rollers | DuoDivide split brush | Different brush geometry matters more than the model hierarchy. |
| Mop motion | Vibrating pad | Vibrating pad | The broad scrubbing method is shared. |
| Wet-mop separation | Raises the mop up to 20 mm | Can leave the main mop at the dock | Removal avoids relying only on lift clearance. |
| Low-body design | Conventional tower body | Retractable tower, 79.8 mm lowered | Measure furniture against the exact robot dimensions. |
| Obstacle approach | Camera-assisted Reactive AI 2.0 | Camera-assisted sensing with retractable navigation | Neither should be trusted with pet waste or loose cables. |
| Rated suction | 10,000 Pa | 22,000 Pa | The larger number is not a measured pickup ratio. |
What you give up
What matters in practice
A lifted pad remains on the robot. A detached pad remains at the station. That distinction is more useful than declaring one flagship universally better. For thick or moisture-sensitive rugs, start with the cleaning sequence that keeps the wet main mop away.
The S8's dual rollers and the Saros's split brush are different cleaning heads. Comparing pressure ratings does not establish which removes more embedded hair from your carpet. If the S8 already fits your rooms and routine, a higher number alone is a weak reason to replace it.
The Saros's retracting tower is valuable when it opens a space you otherwise clean manually. Check the underside of the bed or sofa, not just the front edge. A blocked route deeper underneath can erase the benefit of fitting through the entrance.
What the facts say
Useful conclusions from the current robot vacuums comparison, followed by the checked facts used to reach them.
Only 9 of 52 models checked match every need here: “I do not want damp carpet”, “I need it under low furniture”, and “Mopping matters as much as vacuuming”.
9 matching models from 52 checkedMatch countThe count uses the current product-to-need assignments for “I do not want damp carpet”, “I need it under low furniture”, and “Mopping matters as much as vacuuming”. A need with no documented match does not count.
