Head-to-head

DJI Power 500 vs Anker SOLIX C800 Plus: DJI connects to a drone kit, Anker adds campsite reserve and lights

The short answer

DJI Power 500 is the better creator tool because SDC Lite, dual 100W USB-C and very quiet charging directly serve camera and drone kits. C800 Plus is the stronger general campsite station when 768Wh, 1,200W and its detachable lights are more valuable.

The reasoning and the trade-offs

Main trade-off

DJI Power 500

Solar and fast DJI-drone charging require model-specific SDC Lite adapters that are not all included.

Main trade-off

Anker SOLIX C800 Plus

Its 300W solar ceiling and fixed 768Wh battery are less flexible than newer expandable competitors.

About this comparison

A creator-focused quiet box faces a larger campsite station with built-in lighting.

The practical choice turns on capacity and special feature, then on the constraints in your own setup.

Before you choose

How they fit your plans

A 900W cooking appliance exposes DJI's battery condition

C800 Plus is the cleaner choice for a cooking appliance that really draws 900W continuously. It stays below Anker's 1200W rated output. DJI's published 1000W maximum applies above 20 percent charge, while the manual's 800W rating is the conservative limit used here. Do not buy Power 500 on the assumption that a 900W appliance will run through the last part of the battery.

Facts behind this advice

Compare actual appliance input with normal output ratings. DJI's specification footnote makes its 1000W maximum conditional on charge level. Boost modes and surge ratings are excluded. Follow each station's ventilation and operating instructions.

Budget the evening after charging the camera kit

Suppose your camera and laptop chargers need 360Wh, then lights and other small equipment need another 200Wh before morning. C800 Plus is the stronger base-battery fit for that 560Wh plan. Power 500 has about 410Wh available under our allowance, while Anker has about 614Wh. DJI's specialist charging connection may save time, but it does not supply the missing overnight energy.

Facts behind this advice

The example asks for 360 + 200 = 560Wh at the outputs. Applying an illustrative 80 percent usable-energy allowance gives 512 × 0.8 = 409.6Wh and 768 × 0.8 = 614.4Wh. These are planning estimates without recharge, not measured runtime or guaranteed delivered energy.

Winner by situation

Start with what you need it to do

  • I charge DJI drone batteries in the field

DJI SDC or SDC Lite accessories can charge supported flight batteries directly and faster than a standard AC charger.

  • It will run near a bed or desk

The maker or independent test documents low-noise behavior at light to moderate loads. Fans can still ramp during fast charging.

  • I charge modern laptops directly

At least one USB-C port delivers 100W or more, reducing the need to run a laptop brick through the inverter.

  • I want power for campsites and weekends away

For capacity, DJI Power 500 records “512Wh” and Anker SOLIX C800 Plus records “768Wh”. This changes how often the job pauses for refilling, emptying or another batch.

What you give up

Every choice has a cost

If you choose DJI Power 500

  • DJI documents 800W rated AC output in the manual and up to 1,000W maximum continuous output under stated battery conditions. Size loads to the lower guaranteed figure.

If you choose Anker SOLIX C800 Plus

  • Independent testing found the fan loud at maximum AC discharge, and SurgePad’s voltage-adjusting behavior is unsuitable for sensitive loads.
