Main trade-off
BLUETTI AC2P
The two AC outlets share a 300W total limit.
Head-to-head
Choose AC2P if a compatible solar setup above 110W is central to your trip. Choose standard RIVER 3 if you want slightly more nominal battery capacity and its documented 20ms backup transfer. Both are around 8 lb with 300W AC output and 100W USB-C. The useful solar difference does not make AC2P suitable for larger AC appliances.
Before you choose
Its 245Wh battery holds 14.6Wh more than AC2P’s 230.4Wh.
What this is based on
(245 − 230.4) ÷ 230.4 × 100 = 6.3%. This is nominal stored energy, not a measured runtime margin.
Main trade-off
The two AC outlets share a 300W total limit.
Main trade-off
The base model is 300W AC, not the 550W combined-port or 600W X-Boost headline.

Compare BLUETTI AC2P and standard EcoFlow RIVER 3 by solar input, voltage limits, small-load reserve and USB-C charging.
Both suit small loads, but AC2P accepts more solar power within a slightly lower voltage ceiling.
Winner by situation
AC2P can accept up to 200W within its electrical limits.
It exceeds AC2P’s 28V ceiling. RIVER 3 still needs current and connector checks.
Both offer a 100W port with a compatible cable.
Both have a 300W continuous rating.
What matters in practice
Its 245Wh battery holds 14.6Wh more than AC2P’s 230.4Wh.
(245 − 230.4) ÷ 230.4 × 100 = 6.3%. This is nominal stored energy, not a measured runtime margin.
At their maximum solar inputs, the loss-free lower bounds are 30 minutes for AC2P and about 55 minutes for RIVER 3.
100 ÷ 200 × 60 = 30 minutes and 100 ÷ 110 × 60 = 54.5 minutes. Real charging takes longer with panel conditions, losses and tapering.
An array with 29V cold-corrected open-circuit voltage exceeds AC2P’s 28V ceiling even though AC2P has the larger solar wattage limit.
29V > 28V. RIVER 3’s 30V ceiling clears only this voltage screen, with operating current, connector and polarity still to verify.

BLUETTI, AC2P
A very small AC battery that can accept a useful amount of solar power. It suits a laptop-and-lights trip better than heavy appliances, and the regulated car socket covers compatible DC coolers.

EcoFlow, EFR705
A flat, light battery for small electronics and short trips. The 100W USB-C port makes it more useful for a laptop than the older RIVER 2, while the AC sockets remain a modest 300W supply.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | BLUETTI AC2P | EcoFlow RIVER 3 | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 230.4Wh | 245Wh | RIVER 3 stores an extra 14.6Wh of nominal energy. |
| Continuous AC output | 300W | 300W | Neither is intended for a steady load above 300W. |
| Maximum solar input | 200W | 110W | AC2P can accept more from a compatible larger panel setup. |
| Solar input voltage range | 12V to 28V | 11V to 30V | AC2P’s larger wattage ceiling does not allow a higher-voltage panel string. |
| Fastest USB-C output | 100W | 100W | The USB-C power ceiling is equal. |
| Listed weight | About 7.9 lb | About 7.8 lb | Weight is too close to be a major deciding factor. |
What you give up
What matters in practice
Choose from the panel you will actually bring and the small devices you want to run.
A 200W solar input is useful only when the array stays within the AC2P voltage and current limits. Its 28V ceiling is lower than RIVER 3’s 30V ceiling. Do not connect panels in series just to chase the wattage figure. Check the panel’s cold-weather open-circuit voltage, operating current, connector and polarity first.
RIVER 3 adds only 14.6Wh of nominal capacity. That is a modest change beside the effects of inverter overhead, temperature and the way a device draws power. For a tablet or laptop that supports direct USB-C charging, both offer a 100W port. A good match to your charging method matters more than a tiny capacity difference.
Both have a 300W continuous AC rating. A 400W appliance is above that limit regardless of battery size or the advertised special boost mode. For a day bag with electronics and lights, the class makes sense. For cooking appliances, longer overnight reserve or a large compressor, choose a larger station after checking the real demand.
What the facts say
Useful conclusions from the current portable power stations comparison, followed by the checked facts used to reach them.
Only 7 of 50 models checked match every need here: “I need to carry it with one hand”, “I want power for campsites and weekends away”, and “I charge modern laptops directly”.
