Main trade-off
UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Pro
Its extra bays still require separately purchased compatible drives.
Head-to-head
Choose DXP6800 Pro when six internal SATA drives, two native 10GbE ports or a supported PCIe card are part of the plan. Choose DXP4800 Plus when four drives and one 10GbE connection cover it. Both provide two NVMe sockets and a 64 GB supported memory ceiling, so those requirements alone do not select the larger chassis.
Before you choose
Six equal 12 TB drives give 48 TB before overhead in RAID 6. Four give 24 TB.
What this is based on
The illustrative formula is (drive count minus 2) times 12 TB. Compatible drives and a separate backup remain necessary.
Main trade-off

Main trade-off
The internal SATA plan stops at four drives.

Compare DXP6800 Pro and DXP4800 Plus for a six-drive RAID plan, two native 10GbE links and a supported expansion card.

Winner by situation
DXP4800 Plus has four internal bays.
DXP4800 Plus has one 10GbE socket.
Both provide two M.2 positions.
Both need an upgrade from the supplied 8 GB.
What matters in practice
Six equal 12 TB drives give 48 TB before overhead in RAID 6. Four give 24 TB.
The illustrative formula is (drive count minus 2) times 12 TB. Compatible drives and a separate backup remain necessary.
DXP6800 Pro has two native 10GbE ports. DXP4800 Plus has one.
The second port on DXP4800 Plus is rated at 2.5GbE. Two ports do not automatically combine for one transfer.
Both models have two NVMe sockets and the same stated 64 GB RAM ceiling. Only DXP6800 Pro adds the card slot.
The upgrade is six versus four SATA bays plus different connection hardware. It does not raise the documented RAM limit.

UGREEN, DXP6800 Pro
Six SATA bays with two native 10GbE ports, two NVMe sockets and a 64 GB supported memory ceiling.

UGREEN, DXP4800 Plus
The chassis has 4-bay storage. Its fastest documented network path is 10 Gbps.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Pro | UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Internal SATA bays | 6 | 4 | Count the intended drives before choosing the chassis. |
| Native Ethernet | Two 10GbE ports | One 10GbE and one 2.5GbE port | A second network connection may have a different physical ceiling. |
| General-purpose PCIe slot | One x4 slot | None listed | An expansion-card plan needs the corresponding physical slot and software support. |
| Onboard NVMe sockets | 2 | 2 | The larger HDD chassis adds no NVMe sockets. |
| Installed and maximum RAM | 8 GB, expandable to 64 GB | 8 GB, expandable to 64 GB | A supported 32 GB plan needs a memory upgrade on either side. |
| RAID 6 support | Supported with sufficient drives | Supported with sufficient drives | Two drives worth of capacity are allocated to parity. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose UGREEN NASync DXP6800 Pro. DXP6800 Pro supplies the additional hardware.
Choose UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus. DXP4800 Plus meets those requirements.
Choose neither. Both models provide two sockets.
What matters in practice
For a 40 TB archive with two-drive-failure protection, the four-bay chassis cannot reach the target using the assumed 12 TB drives. The six-bay example has 48 TB before formatting, system use and spare operating space. This is a capacity screening calculation. It says nothing about rebuild duration or whether an existing pool can be expanded in place.
A direct 10GbE workstation connection plus a separate 10GbE switch connection uses both fast ports on DXP6800 Pro. The smaller model cannot supply that same native port arrangement. Confirm routing, addresses, adapters and software configuration. If the household uses a single 10GbE link, both chassis already supply the required socket.
Do not move to the six-bay model merely to install two NVMe drives or 32 GB of compatible RAM. Either model lists those physical capacities. Move up when the additional SATA positions, second 10GbE port or a specifically supported PCIe card solve a real requirement. Check the card and UGOS support together before treating an empty slot as a working feature.
