Main trade-off
UGREEN NASync DXP2800
One native Ethernet connection limits a two-network wiring plan.
Head-to-head
Choose DXP2800 if you want a two-drive UGOS Pro system on an existing 2.5GbE network. Choose F2-425 Plus if you need dual network connections, a third NVMe drive or more than 16GB of supported memory.
Before you choose
If the client and switch stop at 2.5GbE, buying a 5GbE NAS port alone does not raise that connection's link rate.
What this is based on
The end-to-end link is constrained by its slowest segment. min(2.5, 5) = 2.5Gbps before protocol and storage overhead.
Main trade-off
One native Ethernet connection limits a two-network wiring plan.
Main trade-off
The 5GbE ceiling needs matching equipment to matter.

Compare DXP2800 and F2-425 Plus for a two-drive home NAS, including 5GbE wiring, extra NVMe storage and the memory ceiling for added services.

Winner by situation
DXP2800 matches that link and platform brief. Switching to TOS needs a reason beyond an unused 5GbE port.
F2-425 Plus provides two native Ethernet ports. DXP2800 provides one.
Only TerraMaster has three physical M.2 slots. Confirm the intended pool and cache roles in TOS.
Both meet those physical counts. Software, current bundle price and backup compatibility decide the remaining choice.
What matters in practice
If the client and switch stop at 2.5GbE, buying a 5GbE NAS port alone does not raise that connection's link rate.
The end-to-end link is constrained by its slowest segment. min(2.5, 5) = 2.5Gbps before protocol and storage overhead.
Two NVMe drives leave no spare M.2 slot in DXP2800. F2-425 Plus leaves one, which matters if a later SSD role is already in your plan.
UGREEN: 2 slots - 2 drives = 0. TerraMaster: 3 - 2 = 1. Slot availability does not establish which storage-pool layouts the current OS supports.
A workload plan calling for 24GB cannot be met within DXP2800's official 16GB ceiling. F2-425 Plus has room on paper, subject to compatible modules and application overhead.
24GB exceeds 16GB by 8GB and sits 8GB below 32GB. This is a capacity check, not a CPU or application benchmark.

UGREEN, DXP2800
The chassis has 2-bay storage. Its fastest documented network path is 2.5 Gbps.

TerraMaster, F2-425 Plus N150 8GB
A compact hybrid NAS with two SATA bays, three M.2 slots and two 5GbE ports. It suits a small SSD workspace beside a bulk-storage mirror.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | UGREEN NASync DXP2800 | TerraMaster F2-425 Plus N150 8GB | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fastest native Ethernet port | 2.5GbE | 5GbE | A 5GbE switch and client can use TerraMaster's higher link ceiling. A 2.5GbE client remains a 2.5GbE link. |
| Native Ethernet connections | One | Two | TerraMaster can be cabled to two network paths. Their speeds do not automatically combine for one file transfer. |
| M.2 NVMe slots | Two | Three | A two-drive NVMe plan fills UGREEN's slots and leaves one physical slot free on TerraMaster. |
| Official memory ceiling | 16GB | 32GB | A planned 24GB memory allocation exceeds UGREEN's documented limit. Both selected configurations start with 8GB. |
| Management platform | UGOS Pro | TOS | Existing backup jobs and applications need an explicit migration plan when changing platforms. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose TerraMaster F2-425 Plus N150 8GB. F2-425 Plus provides three M.2 slots and a 32GB memory ceiling.
Choose UGREEN NASync DXP2800. DXP2800 meets that connection limit without a platform change.
Choose neither. Neither unit has a native 10GbE port.
What matters in practice
Write down the client, switch and NAS link rates before buying. TerraMaster supplies a higher native Ethernet ceiling, but a gigabit or 2.5GbE segment still constrains that route. Two Ethernet sockets also do not promise a doubled single-client copy rate.
The larger supported RAM ceiling matters when you can name services that need it. It does not prove faster file sharing. Both selected units start with 8GB, so the immediate difference is upgrade room rather than included memory.
Two SATA bays are the same starting point here. TerraMaster's extra M.2 slot becomes useful only with a concrete SSD plan and a supported configuration. Keep a separate backup because adding cache, a storage pool or mirrored drives does not create one.
