Head-to-head

Bambu Lab P2S Combo vs Creality K2 Plus Combo: K2 fits larger one-piece parts and actively heats the chamber

The short answer

Choose P2S Combo when your parts fit a 256mm cube and you want the AMS 2 Pro drying workflow. Choose K2 Plus Combo for a larger one-piece part or a documented active chamber heater up to 60°C.

Before you choose

The reasoning and the trade-offs

K2 Plus offers about 2.56 times the nominal volume

The larger cube can keep some parts in one piece, but it does not make every model 2.56 times larger in each direction. Each axis grows by 94mm.

What this is based on

350³ / 256³ = 2.5555. 350 - 256 = 94mm per axis. These are geometric build-envelope calculations.

Main trade-off

Bambu Lab P2S Combo

The 256mm cube is a hard constraint for larger unsplit parts.

Main trade-off

Creality K2 Plus Combo

The larger printer and CFS need measured bench and service space.

About this comparison

Compare P2S Combo and K2 Plus Combo for 256mm versus 350mm parts, chamber heating and temperature requirements before sizing a multicolor workspace.

Choose P2S Combo when your parts fit a 256mm cube and you want the AMS 2 Pro drying workflow. Choose K2 Plus Combo for a larger one-piece part or a documented active chamber heater up to 60°C.

Winner by situation

Start with what you need it to do

  • My part needs 300mm along a required printer axis

P2S's 256mm axis is too short. K2 Plus supplies 350mm before brim and support allowances.

    Not suitable
    Creality K2 Plus Combo
    Better fit
  • I require an active chamber-heater specification

K2 Plus documents heating up to 60°C. P2S documents heat-retaining airflow rather than that heater rating.

    Bambu Lab P2S Combo
    Caution
    Creality K2 Plus Combo
    Better fit
  • I already use Bambu software and want AMS 2 Pro drying

P2S Combo supplies that specific feeder and workflow. CFS is a separate system.

    Better fit
    Creality K2 Plus Combo
    Depends
  • My parts fit 256mm and use ordinary PLA profiles

Both meet the stated size brief. K2 Plus's extra envelope and heat limits are not required by this scenario.

What matters in practice

The differences that matter

K2 Plus offers about 2.56 times the nominal volume

The larger cube can keep some parts in one piece, but it does not make every model 2.56 times larger in each direction. Each axis grows by 94mm.

How we reached this conclusion

350³ / 256³ = 2.5555. 350 - 256 = 94mm per axis. These are geometric build-envelope calculations.

A 300mm-wide flat part creates a clear size boundary

Aligned flat along a printer axis, a 300mm part exceeds P2S's width and fits inside K2 Plus's nominal width with 50mm remaining before margins.

How we reached this conclusion

300 - 256 = 44mm too wide for P2S in that orientation. 350 - 300 = 50mm total width allowance on K2 Plus. Brims and supports consume some allowance.

Bed and nozzle requirements can decide independently of size

A small part using a 330°C nozzle and 115°C bed profile exceeds both P2S limits. K2 Plus is rated above both setpoints, but the filament and feeder still need compatibility checks.

How we reached this conclusion

P2S: 330 > 300 and 115 > 110. K2 Plus: 330 ≤ 350 and 115 ≤ 120. Temperature eligibility is not a print-quality result.

What you give up

Every choice has a cost

If you choose Bambu Lab P2S Combo

  • Its stated nozzle and bed ceilings are lower and no 60°C active-heater specification is used here.

If you choose Creality K2 Plus Combo

  • Higher temperature ratings do not establish that every material works through CFS.

Recommendation switch

The decision flips if...

A part needs more than 256mm but no more than 350mm along an axis

Choose Creality K2 Plus Combo. K2 Plus has the larger nominal envelope, subject to slicer margins.

The included AMS 2 Pro workflow is the priority and all parts fit 256mm

Choose Bambu Lab P2S Combo. P2S Combo supplies AMS 2 Pro without requiring the larger K2 build envelope.

Your unsplit part exceeds 350mm along a required printer axis

Choose neither. Neither nominal envelope meets that orientation.

What matters in practice

How to make the call

01

Let the unsplit part set the minimum size

K2 Plus is the meaningful step up for geometry that genuinely exceeds a 256mm cube. Check the final orientation, brim and supports in the slicer. A larger nominal volume says nothing about surface finish, speed or the success rate of a full-size print.

02

Separate three temperature requirements

Nozzle, bed and chamber limits are different checks. K2 Plus raises both the nozzle and bed ceilings and supplies an active chamber heater. P2S's enclosed, heat-retaining airflow should not be read as the same heater specification.

03

Budget a safe workspace for the complete combo

Measure the printer, feeder, lid access and service clearance before ordering. K2 Plus's listed printer body is 495 × 515 × 640mm, before arranging the CFS. Follow the filament's ventilation guidance because an enclosure or filter does not make emissions irrelevant.

Check these before buying

  • Slice your largest part in the intended orientation with its supports, brim and full material profile.
  • Measure the complete printer-plus-feeder setup and verify the feeder's filament and spool restrictions.
  • Check the current AMS 2 Pro drying instructions. Bambu's reviewed P2S FAQ describes standby drying with print functions paused.

What this comparison cannot tell you

  • No print-speed, dimensional-accuracy, noise or material-success tests were performed. Build volumes and temperature ceilings are manufacturer limits.
