Our pick

Choose LG C6 for two consoles, an eARC soundbar and Dolby Vision films. Three high-refresh inputs remain after the soundbar connects. Samsung S90H keeps the same number free and adds a matte screen for troublesome reflections, but gives up Dolby Vision and DTS passthrough.
Four high-refresh HDMI inputs leave three after eARC, enough for two consoles and another suitable source. Dolby Vision support also serves compatible films. No DTS passthrough, so check the route from any disc player to the sound system. These are 65-inch US configurations.
Choose a 65-inch TV for two consoles and an eARC soundbar. Count the high-refresh inputs left, then check films, reflections and the equipment already owned.
What the facts say
Useful conclusions from the current televisions comparison, followed by the checked facts used to reach them.
C6 leaves three high-refresh TV inputs after eARC. BRAVIA 8 II leaves one.
Calculation noteFour minus one equals three for C6. Two minus one equals one for BRAVIA 8 II because eARC occupies HDMI 3. A suitable receiver or switch changes the number of direct TV inputs needed. This does not measure image quality.

What matters in practice
Draw the full connection plan before paying for a higher TV tier.
TCL QM7L is a useful exception to a simple four-fast-input shopping rule. HDMI 1 and 2 accept high-refresh consoles, while HDMI 4 carries eARC on a lower-refresh input. An eARC-only soundbar therefore leaves both fast inputs available. The answer changes when a receiver sends video to the TV and receives TV-app audio through the same cable. QM7L’s eARC input tops out at 4K60, so that arrangement cannot retain 4K120 on one connection. A TV with high-refresh video on its eARC socket, such as C6 or QM8L, can accommodate both roles if the receiver and cable also support them.
An eARC connection sends TV audio back to the soundbar through a designated HDMI socket. That socket can also be one of the TV’s limited high-refresh inputs. BRAVIA 8 II has two such inputs, HDMI 3 and 4, with eARC on 3. After connecting the bar, only 4 remains for a console at 4K120. C6, S90H and S85H each provide four suitable inputs, leaving three after eARC. The difference matters when two people have different consoles and neither wants to move cables. A second console can still connect to a basic input on Sony, but that is not an equivalent high-refresh route.
If both consoles already connect to an AV receiver with suitable inputs and an output to the TV, the TV may only need one high-refresh source connection. Check the receiver’s actual 4K120, VRR and HDR support, relevant ports, cable requirements and firmware. The presence of an HDMI socket or an Atmos logo does not establish all those capabilities. The same applies to a soundbar with separate HDMI inputs. When that equipment is already owned, a two-input Sony can become a sensible choice. Buying another box just to work around a new TV’s port allocation belongs in the total purchase decision.
C6 and S90H can accept up to 165 Hz from a compatible PC. PS5’s documented high-refresh output is 120 Hz for supported games and displays. A TV cannot make an unsupported title render more frames. S85H’s 120 Hz maximum therefore covers the relevant console output range, without proving identical image quality or latency. If a gaming PC is genuinely joining the room, the higher range can matter. Check what that PC can produce at the resolution and settings you actually use.
The person playing may be happy with the lights off while another person needs a lamp. S90H’s matte finish can help when that fixed light reflects toward the screen. C6 retains Dolby Vision for compatible films, which becomes a stronger reason when reflections are controlled. Neither preference is universal. Look at the TV position during the household’s actual evening routine. Moving a lamp or closing a curtain might solve the problem, but only if that is a change everyone can live with.
C6 and S90H do not pass DTS audio through the TV. Sony BRAVIA 8 II does, with the right player, receiver and settings. A household that mostly streams may miss this until the first weekend Blu-ray. Trace the disc player separately. Direct audio to a compatible receiver can solve the limitation without changing the TV, while a TV-first eARC route makes passthrough support important. Dolby Vision video and DTS audio are separate checks.
Check the supplied stand, soundbar height, remote sensor, furniture support and cables before placing the order. C6 and S90H use central stands, S85H has two feet, and BRAVIA 8 II’s supplied feet stay near the outer edges even in the raised soundbar position. A 65-inch label does not mean they fit the same cabinet. Secure the installation and keep cables out of reach of children. A narrow stand is a placement option, not permission to use undersized or unstable furniture.

LG, OLED65C6PUA
A straightforward starting point for a room shared by film viewers and several gamers. The supplied central stand keeps the feet together, Dolby Vision covers compatible films, and three high-refresh HDMI inputs remain when a soundbar uses eARC. The headline 165 Hz mode needs a compatible PC. It will not make a console run above its own limit.
Winner whenFour high-refresh HDMI inputs leave three after eARC, enough for two consoles and another suitable source. Dolby Vision support also serves compatible films. No DTS passthrough, so check the route from any disc player to the sound system. These are 65-inch US configurations.
The 18.5-inch stand width is not a minimum safe cabinet width. Allow for the whole 56.7-inch TV, cabinet depth and secure installation.
Samsung, QN65S90HAEXZA
A strong candidate when reflections compete with viewing and you want several consoles or a PC connected. Its matte finish and four high-refresh inputs address those two problems together. Check the film collection before choosing it. Dolby Vision and DTS passthrough are not supported, which can matter if a disc player sends everything through the TV.
Choose instead whenA lamp or window reflects toward the normal seat while other people use the room. The matte finish addresses that problem and three high-refresh inputs remain after eARC. No Dolby Vision or DTS passthrough.
No Dolby Vision or DTS passthrough. A compatible direct player-to-receiver audio path may avoid the DTS limitation.
TCL, 65QM7L
The two fast HDMI inputs remain free when an eARC-only soundbar uses HDMI 4, so two consoles do not automatically require the more expensive QM8L. The catch appears if a receiver must carry high-refresh video and return TV-app audio over the same cable. Its adjustable center stand also needs more cabinet depth than the compact-looking base suggests.
Choose instead whenTwo consoles connect directly to the TV and the soundbar only needs eARC. HDMI 1 and 2 remain free because eARC uses the separate HDMI 4. That eARC socket is limited to 4K60 video, so a receiver using the same cable for high-refresh video needs a different route. Primary testing still reports motion blur.
HDMI 4 carries eARC but tops out at 4K60. A receiver using one cable for both high-refresh video and TV-app audio needs a different connection plan.
Samsung, QN65S85HAEXZA
Start here before paying more for a Samsung OLED used mainly with consoles. All four HDMI inputs accept 4K120, leaving three after an eARC soundbar. The step up to S90H adds a matte finish and higher PC refresh capability. Those changes deserve more attention when a bright reflection or a fast PC is actually part of the room.
Choose instead whenThe room is console-led, reflections are manageable and a compatible PC above 120 Hz is not planned. Four 4K120 inputs already leave three after eARC. Check the supplied two-foot stand against the furniture.
The documented maximum is 120 Hz. S90H’s 165 Hz PC capability and matte Glare Free finish are different features.
Sony, K-65XR80M2
A useful choice for films, subtitles and a DTS disc library routed through a compatible audio system. The QD-OLED screen and supported formats are only part of the purchase. Its feet sit near the outside edges, and an eARC soundbar leaves one high-refresh console input. Check both before assuming it drops into the space occupied by an older 65-inch TV.
Choose instead whenDTS disc passthrough is important and an existing receiver or soundbar can switch both consoles at the needed formats. Only one direct high-refresh TV input remains after eARC. RTINGS reported extended-session LPCM drift on Android 14 in September 2026. Check the actual route on current firmware. A fix is not independently confirmed here.
An eARC soundbar uses HDMI 3, leaving only HDMI 4 for a directly connected 4K120 console. Compatible switching equipment can change that limit.
