Main trade-off
ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro
Shorter runs can consume a limited mowing window with charging.
Head-to-head
Choose the A2000 for a lawn comfortably below half an acre when frequent charging breaks fit your schedule. Choose the A3000 for a larger lawn or a longer uninterrupted mowing window. Both require the same passage width and use the same cutting and trimming layout. The larger battery does not fix a narrow gate.
Before you choose
Starting full and using the published continuous runtimes, the A2000 would mow for 50 minutes, charge for 50 and have 20 minutes left to mow. The A3000’s 160-minute claim spans the whole two-hour window. That is an illustrative schedule, not a prediction of how much grass either will finish.
What this is based on
ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro: 50-minute mowing and 50-minute charge claims. Within 120 minutes: 50 + 50 + 20. ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR Pro: 160-minute mowing claim and 70-minute charge. Assumes uninterrupted operation, full start and no travel or obstacle delays.
Main trade-off
Shorter runs can consume a limited mowing window with charging.
Main trade-off
The larger battery does not improve gate clearance, slope limits or trimmer noise.

GOAT A2000 vs A3000 LiDAR Pro: compare charge breaks, narrow gates and trimming noise before choosing a half-acre or three-quarter-acre mower.
Winner by situation
Both can suit the area. The larger battery earns less if you can tolerate more charge breaks.
The rated run length favors the A3000. Finish mowing before people use the lawn, and do not infer area coverage from runtime alone.
The A2000’s working-area rating is exceeded. The A3000 still needs its own area and access checks.
Both published passage requirements are wider than the opening.
What matters in practice
Starting full and using the published continuous runtimes, the A2000 would mow for 50 minutes, charge for 50 and have 20 minutes left to mow. The A3000’s 160-minute claim spans the whole two-hour window. That is an illustrative schedule, not a prediction of how much grass either will finish.
Both specify a 90 cm passage, about 35.4 inches. A nominal 36-inch gate can still be too tight after allowing for hinges and posts. Measure the clear opening at its narrowest point. Paying for the A3000 does not change this result.
ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro: Published minimum passage 90 cm. 90 / 2.54 = 35.43 inches. ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR Pro: Same minimum passage and 33 cm cutting width. Gate-label width is not measured clearance.
The US manual separates mowing sound pressure of 54 dBA from trimming sound pressure of 74 dBA, both with uncertainty. Do not plan an edge pass beside an outdoor work call using the mower-only noise figure. Neither battery tier avoids the trimmer’s separate noise.
ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro: Shared US manual: 54 dBA mowing, 74 dBA trimming, 3 dBA uncertainty for each. ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR Pro: Same shared manual and powered trimmer. No claim about a measured neighbor’s sound level.
Try your real numbers
The result checks hard limits only. Preferences stay out of the calculation.
Rated for 0.5 acre and 50% interior grade, with wire-free setup. Your input is 0.25 acre and 20% grade.
Rated for 0.75 acre and 50% interior grade, with wire-free setup. Your input is 0.25 acre and 20% grade.
The area check uses the published maximum without adding a reserve. Where a systematic mowing rating is shown, that pattern is required for the maximum area. Boundary slopes can have a lower limit than interior ground. Trees, gates and disconnected zones still need checking.

Meaningful differences
| What changes | ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro | ECOVACS GOAT A3000 LiDAR Pro | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rated grass area | 2,000 m², marketed as 0.5 acre | 3,000 m², marketed as 0.75 acre | Measure mowable grass rather than total lot size. Ratings are not guaranteed daily completion times. |
| Published mowing time | 50 minutes per charge | 160 minutes per charge | The larger model can stay away from the charger longer under the manufacturer’s conditions. |
| Full charging time | About 50 minutes | About 70 minutes | The A3000 charges longer once, but its rated mowing period increases much more. |
| Passage and slope | 0.9 m passage, 50% slope | 0.9 m passage, 50% slope | A larger battery changes neither access through a gate nor the slope limit. |
| Cutting hardware | 33 cm deck, separate edge trimmer | 33 cm deck, separate edge trimmer | Both keep the same basic border-finishing chores and attachment maintenance. |
