Main trade-off
ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR
The short cycle leaves less useful mowing time inside a brief available window.
Head-to-head
Choose S4 when its grass restrictions fit and you need a larger lawn allowance or longer stated run before charging. Choose M5 LiDAR for a much smaller lawn where its documented cutting range suits the grass and the offer is attractive. LiDAR does not make either suitable for every turf type.
Before you choose
Suppose you have a suitable 90-minute mowing window between wet weather and afternoon lawn use. Starting full, M5 LiDAR’s claimed 40-minute run is followed by charging for the rest of that window. S4’s stated 90-minute run could use the whole slot. This does not prove either completes the lawn, and mowing must wait for suitable conditions.
What this is based on
ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR: 40-minute mowing and 60-minute charging claims. Sunseeker S4: 90-minute mowing and 80-minute charging claims. Illustrative full-charge start, no wet-weather capability inferred.
Main trade-off
The short cycle leaves less useful mowing time inside a brief available window.
Main trade-off
Its named grass exclusions can rule out an otherwise suitable shaded yard.

ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR vs Sunseeker S4: compare short dry-weather mowing windows, lawn size and grass restrictions for a shaded yard shared with the family.
Winner by situation
Only S4 fits the area rating.
S4 has the longer stated continuous run. Completion remains unverified.
S4’s exclusion applies despite the useful navigation method. Verify ANTHBOT suitability.
Separate mowing from occupied-lawn time. Obstacle detection is not a safety guarantee.
What matters in practice

M5 LiDAR’s 20 cm deck is about 12 percent wider than S4’s seven-inch deck. Yet its area allowance and run are smaller. For a family trying to keep the lawn free at set times, cutting width alone would point in a misleading direction.
ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR: 20 cm deck, 500 m² rating and 40-minute run. Sunseeker S4: 7 × 2.54 = 17.78 cm deck. 20 / 17.78 - 1 = 12.5 percent. Quarter-acre rating and 90-minute run.
A shaded lawn can make antenna-free navigation appealing, but S4’s named Zoysia and St. Augustine exclusions still apply. M5 LiDAR is not automatically approved for those grasses because its page lacks the same exclusion. Check turf compatibility before using the runtime comparison to decide.
ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR: LiDAR and dual vision. No approval for specific turf species inferred. Sunseeker S4: LiDAR and vision with explicit US grass exclusions.
Try your real numbers
The result checks hard limits only. Preferences stay out of the calculation.
Rated for 0.125 acre and 45% interior grade, with wire-free setup. Your input is 0.25 acre and 20% grade.

The area check uses the published maximum without adding a reserve. Where a systematic mowing rating is shown, that pattern is required for the maximum area. Boundary slopes can have a lower limit than interior ground. Trees, gates and disconnected zones still need checking.

ANTHBOT, M5 LiDAR
The small M5 with LiDAR instead of RTK. It removes the antenna requirement without changing the short stated mowing cycle or low cutting range.

Sunseeker, S4
A quarter-acre LiDAR mower that avoids an RTK antenna, with important grass-type and boundary restrictions to check before choosing it.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | ANTHBOT M5 LiDAR | Sunseeker S4 | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rated area | 500 m², about one-eighth acre | Quarter acre | The smaller robot tier cannot be stretched to the larger lawn. |
| Stated mowing and charging | 40 and 60 minutes | 90 and 80 minutes | The different cycle matters when lawn access is limited. |
| Deck width | 20 cm | Seven inches, about 17.8 cm | The larger-capacity S4 has the narrower cutting strip. |
| Interior slope rating | 45 percent | 42 percent | The small gap is not proof of better traction in wet grass. |
| Grass suitability | 30 to 70 mm height, exact turf compatibility still needs checking | US guidance excludes Zoysia and St. Augustine | Do not transfer one manufacturer’s turf approval to the other. |
What you give up
