Main trade-off
Roborock Saros Z70
The arm is for supported objects, not general room tidying. Keep cables and pet waste out of its path.
Head-to-head
Choose the Saros 10R for ordinary automated vacuuming and mopping. The Z70 makes sense when moving its supported small objects is a feature you will actually use. Both have a 79.8 mm body, so the arm does not buy access under lower furniture. It also does not replace clearing cables, pet waste or unsuitable clutter yourself.
Before you choose
A 100 mm opening leaves the same 20.2 mm nominal height margin for both robots. The Z70's arm is not a clearance upgrade.
What this is based on
100 - 79.8 = 20.2 mm. Static body clearance excludes floor slope, furniture fabric and navigation behavior.
Main trade-off
The arm is for supported objects, not general room tidying. Keep cables and pet waste out of its path.
Main trade-off
Independent testing found weak pet-hair pickup from the split brushroll.

Saros Z70 adds an object-moving arm, not extra low-furniture clearance. Compare it with Saros 10R for room preparation, complexity and daily cleaning.
Winner by situation
The arm solves less of a problem in an already prepared room.
Only the Z70 can attempt to move them.
Both publish a 79.8 mm body height.
Prepare the room instead of relying on recognition alone.
What matters in practice

100 - 79.8 = 20.2 mm. Static body clearance excludes floor slope, furniture fabric and navigation behavior.
The Z70 can clean beneath an item it successfully moves. With unsuitable clutter, both still depend on someone preparing the room.
The manufacturer limits the arm to supported objects. The 10R has obstacle sensing but no object-pickup mechanism.
If you already pick up the floor before every run, the Z70 has less extra work to do. Compare the price difference with that specific convenience.
Both provide a low body, rotating mops and a full-service dock. Object relocation is the Z70's defining additional function.

Roborock, Saros Z70
The folding arm adds a way to move supported small objects before cleaning beneath them, while keeping a very low body.

Meaningful differences
| What changes | Roborock Saros Z70 | Roborock Saros 10R | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Distinctive hardware | Folding five-axis arm | No pickup arm | The Z70 changes room preparation, not just cleaning settings. |
| Body height | 79.8 mm | 79.8 mm | The low-furniture fit is equal on published height. |
| Mopping motion | Rotating pads | Rotating pads | The arm is the larger conceptual difference. |
| Object handling | Can move supported small items | Navigates around obstacles | Moving an item and avoiding it are different tasks. |
| Station work | Automatic dust emptying, washing and drying | Automatic dust emptying, washing and drying | Both automate the main post-cleaning chores. |
| Hazard preparation | Still necessary | Still necessary | Neither should be sent into loose cables or pet waste. |
What you give up
What matters in practice
The arm is appealing when the same supported items repeatedly interrupt cleaning. It is less useful if your obstacles are tangled cables, large toys or objects the system cannot move. Make a list of the actual clutter before deciding the arm is worth its premium.
An arm can expose floor that was covered by an object. It does not establish better embedded-hair pickup, carpet agitation or stain removal. Those are separate cleaning questions. A higher advertised suction figure would not settle them either.
Both still need clean water, a place to dock and periodic brush and tray maintenance. Choose the Z70 because its extra workflow suits your home. For a prepared room that mostly needs regular floor care, the 10R remains the more straightforward purchase.
