Main trade-off
TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro
Internal adjustment adds a step, and the 25 g catch cup limits the larger chamber.
Head-to-head
Choose the K6 if espresso and filter recipes alternate often and you want an external adjustment ring. Choose the C5 ESP Pro if you mostly keep one recipe and prefer a folding handle. The C5 manual recommends loading no more than 25 g, despite the 30 g chamber specification.
Before you choose
If one person makes espresso while another makes pour-over, the K6’s external ring lets you change and record settings without reaching underneath the burrs. The C5 ESP Pro works for alternating recipes, but its internal dial needs cup access. If the cup is already off for emptying, this need not add another removal cycle. The 15 versus 16 micron figures are burr movement, not particle size. They do not justify claiming the C5 makes better espresso or the K6 is more forgiving.
What this is based on
TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro: Internal adjustment, with 15 microns of burr movement per click. KINGrinder K6: External adjustment, with 16 microns of burr movement per click.
Main trade-off
Internal adjustment adds a step, and the 25 g catch cup limits the larger chamber.
Main trade-off
The handle is a separate packing item and a 30 g dose may not fit every bean.

Compare C5 ESP Pro and KINGrinder K6 for switching espresso recipes, packing the handle and making two mugs without overlooking the catch cup.
Winner by situation
The external ring is accessible with the cup attached. If you already adjust while emptying, it need not save a removal cycle.
The C5 folds its attached handle.
The C5 cup is too small for 30 g. K6 capacity is bean-dependent.
Neither model supplies a motor to do the grinding effort.

The C5’s folding handle avoids a separate loose handle in a bag. Its cup can still be the bottleneck at breakfast: two 250 ml mugs at an assumed 60 g/L need 30 g, above the 25 g catch rating. The K6’s stated 25–30 g capacity makes that dose conditional on the beans, not guaranteed. For one 18 g espresso dose both capacity ratings are sufficient. Plan a split batch for the shared brew. The C5 manual recommends no more than 25 g per load, not just an empty cup partway through a larger load.
TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro: Folding handle, 30 g chamber and 25 g catch cup. 0.5 L × 60 g/L = 30 g. KINGrinder K6: Removable straight handle and 25–30 g capacity depending on beans.
Both remain hand grinders. If several back-to-back drinks make the effort tiring, switching between these models does not remove that work. Burr size and body design do not give us a measured force comparison. Try the handling if possible, or compare an electric option when reducing repeated cranking is the actual goal.
TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro: Manual crank operation. KINGrinder K6: Manual crank operation. No paired grip-force or grinding-time measurement is used here.

TIMEMORE, C5 ESP Pro Black
A folding hand grinder with fine espresso adjustment. Plan loads of 25 grams or less, following the manual rather than the 30-gram chamber headline.

KINGrinder, K6 straight handle
An external dial makes it easy to move between a morning pour-over and occasional espresso. Keep batches modest and expect to remove the straight handle for packing.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro | KINGrinder K6 | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adjustment access | Internal dial | External ring | The K6 makes repeated recipe changes more direct. |
| Burr movement per click | 15 microns | 16 microns | This small numerical gap does not establish a taste or espresso winner across different burr designs. |
| Dose limits | 30 g chamber, 25 g cup, manual load limit 25 g | 25–30 g published capacity | A 30 g recipe needs planning on both rather than assuming every bean fits. |
| Packing | Folding attached handle | Straight removable handle | Choose between a folding assembly and a separate handle to keep track of. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro. The folding handle stays attached when packed against the body.
Choose KINGrinder K6. An external ring avoids removing the cup just to reach the adjustment.
