Main trade-off
Eureka Mignon Libra 55 mm
Only two programmed weight targets. A third recurring dose needs adjustment rather than a third dedicated button.
Head-to-head
Choose Sette 270Wi when three regularly used dose weights deserve their own buttons and you will keep at least two doses of beans in the hopper as instructed. Choose Libra when two targets cover the household and you prefer its stepless Mignon espresso workflow. Neither recalls grind settings with the dose. Do not choose Sette for isolated preweighed portions of regular and decaf. Its manual expressly advises against single dosing. Libra also needs a checked portafilter fit and has a documented ten-second insertion window in its original handbook.
Before you choose
Imagine one person uses 16 g, another 18 g and a third 20 g. Sette can retain all three targets. Libra retains two, so the third needs editing. That advantage disappears if everyone uses the same input weight or only two recipes recur. It also does not automate a change of beans or grind size. A household with regular, decaf and filter coffee still has to handle those changes itself. Count the recurring weights before paying for another memory button.
What this is based on
Illustrative 16, 18 and 20 g recipes compared with two and three saved targets. Manuals distinguish dose weight from mechanical grind adjustment. No recommendation of those doses for every basket.

Main trade-off
The manual advises against single dosing because its adaptive stopping depends on hopper-fed throughput and previous cycles.

Libra vs Sette 270Wi for shared espresso. Compare two versus three weight presets, pause recovery and why a preweighed decaf dose does not suit the Sette routine.
Both can stop an espresso dose by weight, making them genuine alternatives for buyers replacing a separate dose-weighing step. Their controls and operating requirements matter more than the shared scale headline.
Winner by situation
Sette saves three weights, Libra two. Grind adjustment remains separate.
The third Sette memory adds little to that routine.
Sette’s manual rejects that workflow. Libra performance for isolated doses is not established here.
Both document recovery, with different starting and pause controls to learn.

If you portion beans into small containers so two people can alternate regular and decaf, 270Wi works against that plan. Its manual says the adaptive system cannot dose accurately or consistently from a single loaded portion and asks for at least two doses in the hopper. A larger hopper is useful for repeated drinks from one bean, but not for keeping separate portions separate. Libra’s different weighing system is not evidence that it solves this without testing. Compare a purpose-built single-dose grinder if that is your central requirement.
Explicit Sette operating restriction. Libra single-dose performance remains unknown, so no advantage is invented from missing documentation.
When someone is called away mid-preparation, the recovery button matters. Sette’s PAUSE preserves progress, while STOP returns to the chosen target. The handbook also documents short bursts when a grind is interrupted within five grams of its target. Libra documents pause and resume, plus a separate FH reset after a delayed start. These controls can help a shared kitchen, but teach the sequence rather than assuming a new person should press the same dose button again. We have not measured which system recovers more accurately.
Manual-specific control behavior. The five-gram condition is Sette’s recovery rule, not a dosing tolerance. Libra insertion timeout is separate from pausing an active dose.

Eureka, Mignon Libra 55 mm

Three recurring dose weights would otherwise require editing a saved target.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | Eureka Mignon Libra 55 mm | Baratza Sette 270Wi | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight memories | Two | Three | A household with three regular input weights can avoid re-editing a button on Sette. |
| Adjustment structure | Stepless micrometric knob | Macro collar plus stepless micro collar | Neither dose button moves these controls or recalls the recipe’s grind setting. |
| Preweighed single portions | No single-dose performance verified in this comparison | Manual says not to single-dose, keep two or more doses in the hopper | A scale-equipped grinder is not automatically a good fit for separate daily bean portions. |
| Interrupted dose | Documented pause and resume, plus FH insertion recovery | PAUSE resumes the same target, STOP resets the cycle | Teach the other user the correct control before assuming the saved dose makes handover foolproof. |
| Grinding platform | 55 mm flat burrs | 40 mm conical burrs | Burr geometry and operating conditions differ. The numbers alone cannot rank flavor or sound. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose Baratza Sette 270Wi. The extra preset serves a real repeated action.
Choose Eureka Mignon Libra 55 mm. Choose the actual handling preference rather than unused preset capacity.
Choose neither. Sette expressly discourages them and Libra’s performance has not been verified for that requirement.
What matters in practice
You want one-touch drinks for several people, but a saved dose is only one part of each recipe. More weight buttons do not automatically accommodate different beans or grind settings.
