Main trade-off
TRIANGLE Borea BR03 BT
No HDMI ARC or USB audio, and one RCA pair is shared between phono and line.
Head-to-head
Choose BR03 Connect when the same pair must handle HDMI TV audio, a USB computer and records. BR03 Connect keeps the same cabinet dimensions as BR03 BT while adding those digital inputs and separating RCA line from phono. Choose original BR03 BT when optical, analog and Bluetooth already cover the sources. Both have an RF remote and both rely on Bluetooth for wireless source music rather than a built-in Wi-Fi streamer. Connect does not solve every phone-handover problem.
Before you choose
A room used for laptop work during the day and TV at night can leave USB and HDMI connected to BR03 Connect. Original BR03 BT lacks both, so those sources need compatible alternate outputs or converters. Because both bodies are 206 by 314 by 360 mm, the upgrade can remove source hardware without requiring larger speaker positions. Cable access and ventilation still need checking. The body match is not a promise that every existing cable reaches the new socket.
What this is based on
Identical dimensions crossed with two newly available direct source inputs and a sequential work/TV routine.
Main trade-off
No HDMI ARC or USB audio, and one RCA pair is shared between phono and line.
Main trade-off
No built-in Wi-Fi streaming. Bluetooth still needs source-device handover when another person takes over.

BR03 BT vs BR03 Connect for records, TV and a work laptop. See which daily connection chores disappear and which wireless habits stay the same.
These are successive powered Borea BR03 designs, not the passive BR03. A buyer can compare the source upgrade without assuming a different-sized installation.
Winner by situation
Connect adds separate direct inputs for both.
Connect separates the phono and line RCA pairs.
Those sources alone do not require the Connect upgrade.
Neither supplies that platform.

On BR03 BT, the RCA pair switches between phono and line. A compatible MM turntable on that socket leaves an analog-only CD player to use auxiliary with a suitable cable or an external switch. Connect has separate phono and RCA line inputs, so those players can remain connected without that workaround. A CD player with optical or coaxial output can already avoid the conflict on either pair. Inspect the player before counting this as an upgrade you need.
Rear-panel input separation crossed with an explicitly analog-only second player. Digital source outputs are not assumed.
Both use Bluetooth for direct wireless source music and both already include a radio remote. If the real complaint is switching playback from one person’s phone to another, the Connect badge is not evidence of a built-in Wi-Fi music destination. Its manual still describes disconnecting a paired Bluetooth device before another takes over. Buy the upgrade for the new wired source paths, rather than expecting every wireless habit to change.
Shared Bluetooth/RF design and documented handover instructions. Remembered devices are not treated as simultaneous streams.

TRIANGLE, Borea BR03 BT
The existing source plan works over optical, coaxial, analog and Bluetooth.

TRIANGLE, Borea BR03 Connect
TV and USB laptop audio should connect without separate converters.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | TRIANGLE Borea BR03 BT | TRIANGLE Borea BR03 Connect | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Television | Optical or coaxial, no HDMI | HDMI ARC plus optical and coaxial | Connect supplies the supported HDMI television-control route. |
| Computer | No USB audio | USB-B audio | Connect can remove an external USB audio adapter. |
| Analog players | One switchable RCA phono/line pair plus auxiliary | Separate RCA line and phono, plus auxiliary | Two RCA sources no longer need to share the same physical pair. |
| Body size | 206 W by 314 D by 360 H mm | 206 W by 314 D by 360 H mm | The connection upgrade does not take more cabinet space. |
| Remote and wireless music | RF remote and Bluetooth | RF remote and Bluetooth, no built-in Wi-Fi streamer | Connect does not newly introduce the radio remote or network music. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose TRIANGLE Borea BR03 Connect. Connect adds the relevant source paths without a larger body.
Choose TRIANGLE Borea BR03 BT. Original BR03 BT covers that plan, although this alone does not establish a lower current price.
What matters in practice
The original pair fits the room, but adding television and work audio creates a tangle of source adapters.
