Main trade-off
Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice & Blend 67970
Switching to blending requires removing the juicing assembly and pulp bin. It cannot do both jobs at once.
Head-to-head
Choose Hamilton Beach 67970 if a small personal blender is also on your shopping list and you accept swapping attachments between jobs. Choose Breville BJE200XL if you mainly want juice or already own a suitable blender. Breville’s integrated pulp collector and shorter body depth suit a dedicated juice station. Hamilton’s 20 oz jar is useful for one blended drink, but protein-powder recipes must stay below 16 oz.
Before you choose
If one person wants juice and another wants a shake before work, Hamilton can cover both drinks without a second motor base. It cannot cover both tasks at the same time. The juicing bowl and pulp bin come off before the blending jar goes on. That makes sense for a solo morning or a couple willing to sequence their drinks. If you already own a blender and often prepare breakfast together, keeping it beside a dedicated Breville can preserve two separate workstations. Buying the combo could otherwise add changeovers without removing an appliance you wanted to keep.
What this is based on
Hamilton’s documented changeover uses the same motor base. Breville supplies no blender. The parallel-workflow alternative assumes an existing suitable blender and enough safe counter space, not a second appliance included in Breville’s price.

Main trade-off
It is a juicer, not a personal blender. The integrated pulp collector must be opened and emptied when full.

Compare Hamilton Beach 67970 and Breville BJE200XL for a small kitchen, a morning shake and shared drinks. See what the 2-in-1 design really replaces.
Both are accessible centrifugal juicers with wide produce chutes. A buyer can reasonably choose the combo for an extra drink type or the Breville for a dedicated juice station with an integrated pulp collector.
Winner by situation
Hamilton provides both functions, with a physical changeover.
Breville adds a dedicated juice station without duplicating the blending role.
Breville’s body is 4.2 inches shallower.
Hamilton’s manual rules it out. Breville needs separate blending equipment.
What matters in practice
If one person wants juice and another wants a shake before work, Hamilton can cover both drinks without a second motor base. It cannot cover both tasks at the same time. Hamilton’s cup says 20 oz, but the manual sets protein-powder drinks below 16 oz because they expand during blending. Someone planning a large shake after training should check that limit before treating the combo as a replacement for a bigger blender. Fresh juice can go straight into the jar, reducing one transfer, but the remaining ingredients still have to fit the applicable limit and the recipe needs at least 6 oz liquid. Breville leaves that blending job to separate equipment. If your current blender already handles the drink you like, Hamilton’s extra function may not replace it.
The calculation is a recipe constraint, not a nutritional recommendation. A nominal 20 oz cup does not permit a 20 oz protein-powder blend. Breville’s jug is for collecting juice and is not a blending jar.
Hamilton saves the need for another blender motor, but its body reaches 14 inches front to back against Breville’s 9.8 inches. That is 4.2 inches more depth before a working arrangement for containers and produce. In a galley kitchen, Breville can leave more of the counter in front available while being wider itself. Hamilton may be easier to fit into a narrow, deep position. Its spare blending parts still need storage, although the manual allows several of them inside the empty pulp bin. Measure the whole arrangement you will leave out, rather than assuming “2-in-1” means the smaller station.
14 minus 9.8 equals 4.2 inches of body depth. 9.1 minus 7.54 equals 1.56 inches of width in Hamilton’s favor. Neither measurement includes all operating clearances and separate containers.

Meaningful differences
| What changes | Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice & Blend 67970 | Breville Juice Fountain Compact BJE200XL | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobs in the box | Juicing assembly and personal-blender attachment | Dedicated centrifugal juicer | The extra blender is valuable only if it replaces equipment you need. |
| Switching drinks | Remove juicing bowl and pulp bin, then fit blender jar assembly | No blending attachment in the standard package | A shared base creates a sequence rather than two working stations. |
| Supplied container | 20 oz blending jar with travel lid | 25 oz juice jug with froth separator | The containers serve different jobs and do not imply the same usable recipe volume. |
| Protein-powder blending | Below 16 oz, with at least 6 oz liquid | Requires a separate suitable blender | Check the actual recipe, not just the cup label. |
| Body dimensions | 7.54 W by 14 D by 14.81 H inches | 9.1 W by 9.8 D by 15.7 H inches | Hamilton is narrower but 4.2 inches deeper. |
| Pulp arrangement | Separate removable pulp bin | Collector within the main unit footprint | Counter arrangement and interruption during emptying differ. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice & Blend 67970. Hamilton can fill that role if your recipe fits its limits and you accept the changeover.
Choose Breville Juice Fountain Compact BJE200XL. Breville’s shallower body and integrated pulp arrangement may be more useful.
Choose neither. Hamilton’s personal jar is limited, and Breville does not blend.
What matters in practice
You want fewer appliances in a small kitchen, but saving a motor base should not make two people’s breakfast harder to coordinate.
