Main trade-off
Garmin STRIKER Vivid 7cv
The selected cv bundle has no side imaging.
Head-to-head
Choose Vivid 7cv when Garmin Quickdraw and traditional plus ClearVu sonar cover the job. Choose Eagle 7 TripleShot HD when the supplied transducer must scan to the sides or detailed C-MAP chart support is required. Both have seven-inch 800 x 480 displays, so this is a sonar-and-chart decision rather than a larger-screen upgrade.
Before you choose
TripleShot HD adds SideScan, while the selected GT20-TM Vivid package scans traditionally and downward.
What this is based on
The decision uses the supplied transducer identity rather than transferring features from a Vivid sv model.
Main trade-off
The selected cv bundle has no side imaging.
Main trade-off
Additional sonar views share the same seven-inch panel.

Winner by situation
TripleShot HD includes SideScan.
Eagle provides the documented chart path.
Eagle uses Genesis Live for its own contours.
Both selected displays have the same size and resolution.
What matters in practice
TripleShot HD adds SideScan, while the selected GT20-TM Vivid package scans traditionally and downward.
The decision uses the supplied transducer identity rather than transferring features from a Vivid sv model.
Eagle supports its selected US Inland charts and compatible C-MAP Discover content. Vivid does not accept supplemental detailed charts.
A chart-compatible card slot and a community-contour workflow are different capabilities.
Across a ten-foot depth span, 0.5 ft spacing creates twenty contour intervals and 1 ft spacing creates ten.
Ten divided by 0.5 equals twenty intervals. Ten divided by one equals ten. This compares drawing intervals rather than measured depth error.

What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose Garmin STRIKER Vivid 7cv. Vivid 7cv supplies that Garmin workflow.
Choose Lowrance Eagle 7 TripleShot HD. The selected Eagle bundle supports those tasks.
Choose neither. Neither provides a larger display than the other.
What matters in practice
Choose Eagle TripleShot when finding structure off to the sides is part of the search pattern. Vivid 7cv can suit a job focused under the boat, but its ClearVu mode should not be renamed SideVu. Verify the mounting position and selected transducer. The lateral capability does not prove that either unit will identify more fish in a given water condition.
If the trip needs detailed chart content on the device, confirm the Eagle package covers the actual waters and check any additional chart cost. Vivid can record Quickdraw and use community contours through its supported workflow. Buying a Garmin chart in a mobile app still does not make it installable on STRIKER hardware.
Genesis Live can display a finer contour interval, which may be useful for reading small depth changes when the underlying survey supports them. It does not establish twice the depth or position accuracy. Both displays remain seven inches with 800 x 480 pixels. Use the survey quality and the views you need, rather than line density alone, to choose the mapping workflow.
