The longest runtime on the box may miss your cleaning routine
Time the part of your clean with the motor running, using the floor head and power mode you actually need. Then separate a flat battery from a full bin or a blockage. A spare pack addresses the first problem. It leaves the other interruptions in place.

A situation you might recognize
You clean carpet upstairs, hard floors downstairs, and pet hair on both. The nearest convenient charging socket is downstairs.
Change any of these constraints and the sensible purchase can change too.
Powered floor runtime matters more than handheld Eco runtime.
A charged spare helps only when it is available where you stop.
A larger battery package leaves carrying and bin emptying unchanged.
Start with your actual cleaning round
Would one pack even meet the published ceiling?
This check compares two exact Shark Vertex Pro packages. It is useful because the floor system stays the same while the included battery count changes.
The one-pack ceiling falls short
For your 40-minute round: IZ662H lists up to 30 minutes with one pack. IZ682H lists up to 60 minutes across two packs.
The two-pack bundle addresses the battery shortfall, with a swap. Allow headroom because the claim is an upper limit.
What the numbers can establish
Shark’s IZ600 manual separates one and two batteries, handheld and powered heads, and Eco and Boost. We compare your motor-on minutes with the matching published upper limit. Actual runtime can be lower. No floor-area conversion, pickup score or promised cleaning time is inferred. Stops to move chairs or empty the bin are excluded from motor-on time.
Before choosing a model
Work out what you can change
The vacuum used to finish this same job
First compare the same head, surface and power mode. Check the battery indicator, filter and blockage alerts against the owner guide. A new blockage or a tired replaceable battery is a different problem from buying too little runtime in the first place.
If a supported replacement battery restores a machine you like, replacing the whole vacuum may add nothing useful.
Upstairs carpet, downstairs socket
Parking and charging can be separate decisions with a removable pack. These Vertex Pro models permit charging the battery outside the vacuum. That lets the body stay near the next job while the battery goes to the socket.
It does not remove the need to carry the vacuum between floors. If carrying is the problem, test that handling or compare a lighter cleaner before paying for another battery.
Count emptying stops separately. A spare battery cannot give a full cup more space. An auto-empty dock helps when you bring the vacuum back to it, so a downstairs station still requires a trip from upstairs.
If your clean is interrupted by moving toys and chairs, time only the powered intervals. The wall-clock length of the chore can overstate the battery requirement.

IZ662H
One charged pack covers the powered part of your usual clean
Shark Vertex Pro
The published ceilings are 30 minutes on carpet and 46 on bare floors in Eco. Folded MultiFLEX storage and out-of-vacuum battery charging let you plan parking separately from the socket.
What it leaves unresolvedOne pack is included. The same manual lists 60 minutes handheld Eco, which does not establish an hour on powered carpet.
You need another pack before finishing and will charge both beforehand
Shark Vertex Pro with two batteries
This exact package supplies two packs. Its combined carpet-Eco ceiling is 60 minutes, with a swap. It can remove the charging wait when the one-pack package falls short.
What it leaves unresolvedBoth packs still need charging. The two-pack package does not empty the bin, move the vacuum upstairs or promise 120 minutes on carpet.
If your real interruption is debris handling, compare the dock and low-reach workflow.

Manufacturer specifications establish the inputs. BPF calculates fit, checks combined requirements and counts the steps in the stated routines. These are desk-researched conclusions. We have not tested these products in your home.
