Head-to-head

Bambu Lab P1S Combo vs QIDI Plus4: P1S includes color feeding, Plus4 needs an extra QIDI Box

The short answer

Choose P1S Combo when four-color prints are part of the first project and its 256 mm nominal bed is enough. Choose Plus4 when the part needs a larger footprint or the material profile needs its actively heated chamber and higher nozzle ceiling. The selected P1S includes AMS. The selected Plus4 needs an additional QIDI Box for automatic colors.

Before you choose

The reasoning and the trade-offs

A 280 mm square fixture needs the wider bed

Plus4 has a nominal 305 mm square bed. A flat 280 mm square fixture exceeds both P1S horizontal axes.

What this is based on

280 mm is 24 mm beyond each P1S nominal horizontal limit and 25 mm inside the Plus4 limit.

Main trade-off

Bambu Lab P1S Combo

The bed limits wider flat models.

Main trade-off

QIDI Plus4

The selected package omits QIDI Box.

About this comparison

Compare P1S Combo and Plus4 for four-color work, a 280 mm flat part and filament profiles that require active chamber heating.

Winner by situation

Start with what you need it to do

  • Print a 280 mm square part flat

Only Plus4 has sufficient nominal bed dimensions.

What matters in practice

The differences that matter

A 280 mm square fixture needs the wider bed

Plus4 has a nominal 305 mm square bed. A flat 280 mm square fixture exceeds both P1S horizontal axes.

How we reached this conclusion

280 mm is 24 mm beyond each P1S nominal horizontal limit and 25 mm inside the Plus4 limit.

A four-color order changes which box is complete

P1S Combo supplies one four-spool AMS. Plus4 requires the optional QIDI Box.

How we reached this conclusion

The compared ASINs are different package types. Neither supplied package provides sixteen loaded colors.

A small engineering part may need the larger machine anyway

Plus4 supplies active chamber heat and a 370 C nozzle limit even when the part fits inside P1S.

How we reached this conclusion

Nozzle temperature and chamber heating are separate requirements in a filament profile.

Choice A

What you give up

Every choice has a cost

If you choose Bambu Lab P1S Combo

  • No actively heated chamber is documented.

If you choose QIDI Plus4

  • A higher temperature ceiling does not guarantee a successful engineering-polymer print.

Recommendation switch

The decision flips if...

Four-color small parts are the first project

Choose Bambu Lab P1S Combo. P1S Combo includes the automatic feeder.

The flat part exceeds 256 mm or needs active chamber heat

Choose QIDI Plus4. Plus4 addresses those hardware constraints.

I need a 320 mm upright part

Choose neither. Neither nominal height reaches 320 mm.

What matters in practice

How to make the call

01

A 280 mm square fixture needs the wider bed

For a flat 280 mm fixture, Plus4 offers nominal room to keep the design in one piece. P1S requires a split design or another orientation, which can change supports and load direction through the layers. Check the complete sliced footprint before buying. The size arithmetic does not establish whether the remaining Plus4 margin is enough for your brim.

02

A four-color order changes which box is complete

For small signs or labels with four compatible colors, the P1S Combo includes the feeder needed to begin. With Plus4, add the QIDI Box and check its material restrictions before comparing the full purchase. Do not replace the original AMS listing with an AMS 2 Pro assumption just because the manufacturer store now sells both configurations.

03

A small engineering part may need the larger machine anyway

If the selected filament asks for controlled chamber heat or a nozzle setting above 300 C, Plus4 has relevant hardware that P1S does not document. Confirm the bed, nozzle wear surface and drying requirements too. For a supported PLA or PETG job, those higher limits may add nothing to the result. There is no matched strength or warping test here.

Check these before buying

  • Check the full sliced footprint and P1S excluded regions.
  • Keep the original AMS and optional QIDI Box package identities distinct.

What this comparison cannot tell you

  • No matched print-quality, strength, reliability or acoustic test was performed. P1S nominal height has a default slicer limit and safety conditions documented by Bambu.
