Main trade-off
Bambu Lab A1 Combo with LED Kit
Abrasive grades need the specified nozzle upgrade.
Head-to-head
Choose A1 Combo for four-color PLA or PETG projects and its larger nominal bed. Choose K1C when you need a supplied enclosure and the wear-resistant nozzle for a compatible abrasive filament. The A1 Amazon package includes an AMS lite and LED kit. It remains an open printer with material and feeder restrictions.
Before you choose
A1 can fit a nominal 240 mm square footprint, whereas K1C has 220 mm width and depth.
What this is based on
The example preserves a flat orientation and requires room for adhesion features within the remaining margin.
Main trade-off
Abrasive grades need the specified nozzle upgrade.
Main trade-off
Automatic four-color hardware is absent.

Compare A1 Combo and K1C for four-color PLA, abrasive filaments and the space needed by a flat model.

Winner by situation
AMS lite is supplied with A1 Combo.
The part exceeds the K1C nominal bed width.
K1C includes the relevant hardware.
AMS lite excludes that feeding path and the selected K1C supplies no color feeder.
What matters in practice
A1 can fit a nominal 240 mm square footprint, whereas K1C has 220 mm width and depth.
The example preserves a flat orientation and requires room for adhesion features within the remaining margin.
K1C includes a hardened wear surface. A1 uses stainless steel and needs the documented hardened-nozzle upgrade for abrasive grades.
Bambu specifically calls for hardened steel when the filament contains hard particles. Creality documents the K1C hardened tip.
A1 supports TPU through an appropriate external feed path, while AMS lite excludes flexible materials.
AMS lite restrictions apply to the feeder even when the printer accepts TPU.

Bambu Lab, A1 Combo
The printer provides 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume. The print area uses an open-frame layout.

Creality, K1C
The printer provides 220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume. The print area is enclosed.
Meaningful differences
| What changes | Bambu Lab A1 Combo with LED Kit | Creality K1C | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Build envelope | 256 x 256 x 256 mm | 220 x 220 x 250 mm | A1 has 36 mm more nominal width and depth. |
| Package feeder | AMS lite, four colors | Single spool | A1 Combo includes the additional color-feeding hardware. |
| Printing enclosure | Open, enclosure not recommended by Bambu | Factory enclosure | Do not plan to turn A1 into an enclosed K1C equivalent. |
| Standard nozzle wear surface | Stainless steel | Hardened steel tip | Abrasive filament can require an A1 nozzle replacement. |
| Flexible-filament feeding | TPU bypasses AMS lite | Direct-drive single-spool path | Printer TPU support is separate from feeder support. |
What you give up
Recommendation switch
Choose Bambu Lab A1 Combo with LED Kit. AMS lite is part of the package.
Choose Creality K1C. K1C begins with both.
Choose neither. The AMS lite restrictions rule out that assumption.
What matters in practice
For a 240 mm PLA organizer tray, A1 has a practical size advantage before color is considered. K1C requires a split design or a different orientation. Run the file through the intended slicer first, because supports and brims can consume the A1 margin. The larger bed does not prove better first-layer reliability.
If the first project uses a supported fiber-filled filament, include nozzle wear and chamber requirements in the basket. K1C already supplies the hardened tip and enclosure. A1 may handle specific grades after a nozzle change, but Bambu warns about large, dense high-temperature-material parts and does not recommend enclosing this model.
Choose A1 Combo for compatible colored rigid filaments. For flexible seals, plan to bypass AMS lite and follow the TPU instructions. K1C also needs the exact TPU grade and print settings checked. Neither package should be selected on the assumption that soft TPU can share the advertised four-color workflow.
